I had a S&W stolen from a checked back once, and I replaced it with an identical knife. That one I bent the liner lock accidentally, I think by batoning the knife splitting logs for kindling. EDC not a hatchet, apparently.
BIL replaced it with many knives since then. He's probably given me 6 knives or so. I never lose a knife... except there was one time I was getting thrashed around at the bottom of a waterfall upside down in my kayak, and when I popped back up my knife was no longer attached to my PFD. A coworker felt bad about my loss and bought me a replacement.
