I was planning on creating a new thread, but since you mentioned it:
I see videos of AI doing wonderful things for people--most of the time. I tried to use ChatGPT, but if I did anything besides one of their suggestions it just did a search, and since this was through Bing, it did a Bing search.
[shudders]
Someone wrote a scripting language for TradeWars 2002 many years ago and different people have updated it.
I have written various scripts over the years. I swear I wrote one when I was in Afghanistan that would automatically transwarp my planets to different sectors and trade for me.
I wrote a new one a while ago, but I never worked out the bugs for the existing features, let alone add new ones.
Most players pay $25 for a helper called Special Weapons and Automagic Tradewars Helper (SWATH) that automates lots of stuff, like traveling the universe and trading--or, if you accidentally wandered into another player's base, lost a very nice ship, felt disgruntled about it, invaded, and suddenly went "Evil," it will rob and steal throughout the universe for you!
Maybe that makes twice as much money as trading legitimately.
I don't know.
If you self-destruct you are supposed to clear your experience and alignment, so I wanted to do that right before reset, but I lost track of time.
Anyway, first of all, I don't know how to make ChatGPT work, and I don't know that I could explain a text multiplayer on-line game from the eighties to it.
