I feel great shame by you bringing this up.
My previous coffee maker was free because my parents gave it to me, and I used it for another decade before it recently failed (and could not be revived by my usual methods).
To get all the features of the one that died, I shamefully paid $90. It does make 2 more cups than the previous one, and it doesn't gurgle so loudly... but they are such simple machines.
