Well the original was a brushed motor controller which used a PWM / LC network from the motor windings to control effective voltage and subsequent current. Theinduction motor controller was in effect 3 stacked brushed controller power sections using an external sync. This control schema is eminently usable as a grid tie power system although probably not very efficient
