No idea why they chose to limit production so severely. They left a ton of money on the table too considering the dealer markups nearly double MSRP at one point.

Toyota should have been offering the Prius and RAV4 Prime a decade ago in large volumes and have everyone's milkshakes.
I got an ad in my reddit feed for a Rav4 Prime lease deal today. I'm like, who has Rav4 Primes sitting around that need moving? I have heard Toyota is purposely limiting supplies to keep prices high. Also in spite of lots of promotions acting like you can order up a Toyota how you want, the dealer seem to say they get what Toyota sends them, no choice on colors, models, options, etc. IDK, I like Toyota but not enough to get into that game. Actually if I could walk onto a lot and drive away today with a car at MSRP I'd get a Corolla Cross Hybrid.
