Natural gas is fairly commonplace in cities and suburbs in the US, and that seems the logical solution to me.

Probably not so commonplace elsewhere, in which case I'd be inclined towards propane.

It's still possible here to buy non-ethanol gasoline.

The other option is a more expensive, more noisy diesel genset.
