Nope geothermal energy to run a power plant is a money pit. Better off doing home use geothermal.

Porque No Los Dos - Meaning, Origin, Usage - DigitalCultures
24 May 2023Porque No Los Dos (also known as Why Not Both or Why Don't We Have Both in English) is a Spanish phrase that gained popularity on the internet as a reaction meme. The meme is used in situations where a decision is to be made between two things, suggesting to consider a third option by picking both of them.

Home geothermal won't desalinate sea water. Boreholes would have efficiency losses for home heating.

Fusion tech is set to unlock near-limitless ultra-deep geothermal energy
25 Feb 2022Fusion tech is set to unlock near-limitless ultra-deep geothermal energy By Loz Blain February 25, 2022
MIT spin-off Quaise says it's going to use hijacked fusion technology to drill the deepest holes in history, unlocking clean, virtually limitless, supercritical geothermal energy that can re-power fossil-fueled power plants all over the world..

Some spots in the earth's crust are hotter, shallower than others. Seems like those would be the cheaper places to bore.

Quaise says the range is 3-20km.

Problem with deep Geothermal is you never know what you are going to get. Can get hot sulfuric acid, hydrogen sulfide, mud, radio active elements.

Last week, there were 2 power shortages in my neighborhood. Had I been able to install a wind power generator or a solar panel, maybe it would've been less of a PITA.

In The States you can get a genset for $200 that will provide for most daily electrical needs.

It's possible here too, made in China and more expensive though. Not to mention fuel could get old quite quickly, a more serious issue considering the high amount of ethanol added to the gasoline here...

Natural gas is fairly commonplace in cities and suburbs in the US, and that seems the logical solution to me.
Probably not so commonplace elsewhere, in which case I'd be inclined towards propane.
It's still possible here to buy non-ethanol gasoline.
The other option is a more expensive, more noisy diesel genset.

There is natural gas in my hometown, and more recently it has been also more widely used as a home fuel to replace propane.

Would have to add some stabilizer due to the biodiesel added, considering a longer-term storage. Kerosene could eventually also be used, but it's no longer so readily available at local gas stations. AFAIK only one or two gas stations in the outskirts of the city still have kerosene available at the pump.
