The problem is the Pareto Principle will play out, with AIs having a small initial advantage iterating rapidly and eliminating competition.

It's going to kill the 1st amendment either directly (we will be brainwashed into thinking freedom of speech is not worth it), or indirectly (shadow banned, etc).

The same mechanism is what causes everyone to use Google despite them being evil. Sure, there are alternatives and a handful of people use them, but it's insignificant.
