Wife won't let me drive to Colorado (again) with 2 children (now). I might be able to convince her if we get a 3rd. The thing is, if we leave at 6pm, we'll get in about 6pm the next day. Half the trip will be unconscious for the kids, no airline passengers will be terrorized by shrieking, and the food is cheap, plentiful, and the cabin service is very responsive. Plus, we save a ton of money. Sure, a plane can get 100 passenger miles per gallon, but a car full of 5 people can beat that.
