200,000! And that's all, folks!

With the close of Q4, 2023, the 200,000th Mirage was sold in the U.S. (207,964 total sales, to be precise.)

This surprises me most because I just didn't think the car would still be for sale at this point - it's been available for TEN YEARS now in North America! (2 years longer in some other markets!)

I would have bet money that the car's last model year would have been last year. Alas, the news is that 2024 will see the current model's discontinuation.

The manual transmission was dropped for the 2022 or 2023 model year in the States, and this year in Canada.

It will also be no surprise that the days of SUPER cheap used Mirage finds are gone. (The three I've owned were bought for $2600, $2900 & $1900 respectively, not including tax. A year or so ago, I could have sold my current one for 2 to 3 times what I paid for it.)

These days $2500 - $3k seems to be the range for the "cheap Mirage".

I'll probably pick up a 2023 manual Mirage in about 5-7 years... Assuming you can still buy gasoline for them.
