Thanks for the replies! i have a toyota v8 and nissan manual trans i can put in it. Diesel engines interest me because i have not owned one before. I see people swapping the vw diesel engines in all sorts of vehicles but thats front wheel drive. I can't think of common rwd small diesel engines. My dad is good with 4age engines but they are quite expensive now and he recommends going with a cheaper engine. I guess i should probably stick to the v8 since already have most of the pieces and know people thats done it before.

Ive considered putting off road tires on my 1999 corolla but never the 85. I've driven the 99 25,000 miles so far this year. It would hurt me to tear up the car taking it offroading so i decided i probably shouldn't do that.
