Sounds extremely interesting!?

Are these "cable restraints" inside the motor, or the leads going to/from it?

As I understand magnetic 'shielding' you need a certain minimum thickness of ferrous metal around your field so the unused 'outside' field can 'concentrate' in that and not bother with going 'into the surrounding air'.
Sounds like your motor doesn't have enough of this??
