I don't find as much profundity in the election year. "I want to hold your hand" is at least 50x better than "Yellow Submarine". Don't know where the drugs play into that, but also Ringo isn't good at writing songs.
I've got more than a few stories of people reporting their first psychedelic experience to me, and how it massively expanded their mind, but never resulted in more than playing for tips in a coffee shop. Was hoping an expanded mind had quantifiable metrics by which we could prove the mind was usefully expanded.
On a big tangent, I find it very interesting that folks like Brett and Heather who had previously been staunch supporters of one team color are lately very critical of that color, and less condemning of the opposing one. It's at least one of the canaries in the coal mine.
