AWD isn't a deciding factor for me as pretty much all of Toyota's hybrids are available with AWD today. Corolla, Corolla Cross, Camry, Crown, etc.

Yes it’s much better. Not perfect, but the gas mileage boost is better and they added 40 more hp to the rear wheels. It’s not Subaru or Tesla AWD level but it helps you get going from a stop or at lower speeds. One YouTube channel even took it out to the race track and noticed the AWD increased their lap times when coming out of corners.
Even though the new Prius is a little smaller, I’d still choose it over the others with the hatchback design and ability to put a bed down in the back, long snowboards and metal detectors, and more aerodynamic design with better gas mileage.
