After the introduction of the current generation of the Corolla in my country in 2019, also including the first locally-made hybrid, it was so predictable the Prius wouldn't last much longer here. Sure a handful of folks may want specifically a Prius because of how it became some sort of mobile billboard for those willing to say they care more about the environment than the others, while someone into hybrids mostly because of the claimed fuel savings or some tax benefit are more inclined toward the conservative profile of a Corolla.

I did. I lowered it more than I was comfortable doing - both for comfort and outward visibility. Even something small like a subcompact crossover can completely block ones' view.

Sitting in the new Prius felt very similar to sitting in a Mustang or Camaro - cars that I no longer rent due to poor ergonomics.

Glad you like it - to me the ergonomic compromises outweigh the fuel savings.

I've curious if this generation AWD is any better than the old one. The last generation the rear motor didn't have enough power to move the vehicle on flat ground.

AWD isn't a deciding factor for me as pretty much all of Toyota's hybrids are available with AWD today. Corolla, Corolla Cross, Camry, Crown, etc.

Yes it’s much better. Not perfect, but the gas mileage boost is better and they added 40 more hp to the rear wheels. It’s not Subaru or Tesla AWD level but it helps you get going from a stop or at lower speeds. One YouTube channel even took it out to the race track and noticed the AWD increased their lap times when coming out of corners.

Even though the new Prius is a little smaller, I’d still choose it over the others with the hatchback design and ability to put a bed down in the back, long snowboards and metal detectors, and more aerodynamic design with better gas mileage.

I guess I don't know what a hatchback is, because I considered all the previous Prii to be a hatchback. It's certainly not a trunk.

I'm confounded that Wikipedia says the 1973 Chevy Nova had a hatchback model.. I knew someone that had one in the 1970s when it was considered a 'liftback'.

What the total? I can't find anything on DDG. Is it 68HP? Because that's what the Lexus RX400h had from 2006 to 2010.

I tend to think of a hatchback either as shorter than a station-wagon, or some slantback model which may eventually be closer in size to a station-wagon or a sedan.
