Sounds quieter. How much in decibels? Didn't test for that. You could be going high frequency deaf after a trip for all I know. Happens to me frequently any more after being packed in a flying disease tube for a couple of hours.
Runs smoother. Yup my diesels run like fecal matter until the fuel gets warm enough to flow below -25C after sitting outside all night.
You're not helping your cause
Seems like drilling holes in a leaky hull to let the water back out.
* thank you Arlo.

Not going to happen.
Why should I go to the trouble
if
There are already
peer reviewed, (before you can)
published papers on the layer formed?
With photos etc-etc.

HOW would
I beat the veracity of such research..?
"Sounds quieter" is what people on other forums say.
From experience, I would say what they mean is;
lower high amplitude frequency spikes in the same frequency range of noise from the engine.
ie:
A graph of frequency vs amplitude for the engine noise would have lower peaks for some of the frequencies.
You seem
interested in being convinced Piotrsko. (thx for that at least )
The best way of doing that
for yourself is to find an engine to try this in
for yourself...?
This is one of the very few things where you actually notice a difference without the need for measurements.
A way to find a candidate old tired, but otherwise OK
engine:
Any engine rebuilders or mechanics you know in your area should be able to tell you who's being making inquiries recently.
You seem to be big on aircraft.
It would be very interesting to taxi test one just before a scheduled rebuild.
Lastly:
Complaining about 'a screen full of research'...?
Really..? "I want to know but I don't want to learn"..???
How else would you convince yourself??? Besides just adding a cup of this stuff to an engine..
