Mechanism of micro-explosion of water-in-oil emulsified fuel droplet

NB
This is interesting for people like pgfpro who actually swing spanners at engines
and/or
people who like reading science papers.
If you aren't willing or able to do at least one of the above; you're in the wrong place. Leave now!

This is interesting in that:
  • The water in a fuel water emulsion 'explodes' into steam, atomizing the fuel better, resulting in better combustion etc.
  • The required emulsion can probably be accomplished easily with a high speed stirrer or piezoelectric pond mister.
  • I assume the cooling effects normally seen from water injection also apply, without the extra complexity.
