I've been excited for micromachines for decades, but problems of "stiction" and providing power seem to still be unresolved.

"Innerspace" was the first "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" type movie I can remember enjoying.

Crichton was working on a novel on the subject when he died, and it was published in 2011. I started reading, but I almost feel I can tell where in the story authors changed.
