Steven Hawking was capable of moving a muscle in his cheek as computer input, which allowed him to communicate how the universe works with the rest of us. A guy who slobbers on himself and is completely dependent on others was worth millions, sold many books, and expanded the frontiers of physics. I'd rather be confined to a useless body and perform to maximum potential than to have a fully functional one and resign myself to uselessness.

This was a response to "childless cat lady".

Some people with their fully functional body manage to feed cats, while others with a nearly useless body manage to feed the frontiers of physics.

My grandmother was an unlikable childless dog lady. She has few redeeming qualities, though was most likable among my 3 grandmothers. I love and miss her, but the funeral will be poorly attended. She was fond of me, and it's not clear to me why. Maybe because I took time to chat and pet her dog.

I went to the manager and had her recite the park rules on cats. There are four. My neighbors are in violation of all four (the one that surprised me is that cats outside need to be on a leash).

The p**p i have to pick up in my yard every day comes into the park in 20lb bags.

I have a question regarding a local (?) Phenomena: county has rules about picking up after your animal in public/parks/trails. People do that, but leave their full plastic bag. I don't understand that process. Must be an offering to some deity or method of civil disobedience.

Never understood that either. They already did the gross part, and the bag had to be placed somewhere, so why not in the trash bin?
