The problem with the dome is that some of the interior space is unusable. There aren't any curved couches, my TV is flat, pictures are flat, windows are flat, framing comes in straight pieces... then the fact that I don't know a single person whose house blew away.

If our homes were at risk of blowing away, then we'd probably consider a design that is more resilient.

BTW, the design of eves is very efficient when engineered for the environment. They allow sunlight through windows in the winter months, and block sunlight in summer months. What percent of houses are constructed with this in mind? 1%?

We give no consideration to efficiency, only upfront cost. Then we buy massive furnaces and AC to overcome our poor design choices.
