Good news on the build cost front!
I just received a deposit for the Torque Monster. Sold for $305 CDN to someone who lives a couple of hours from here. Bonus: he's going to come pick it up (thus the discount from the $300 US asking price - saved us the hassle of crating it, weighing and sending it).
I didn't want to say anything until I had the $ in hand for fear of jinxing the deal.
He's thinking of using the motor in an Olds Aurora.
So when he picks it up, the build cost will be back down to about $700 CDN :P
