Mistyped that one. Maybe you didn't notice that I said they wouldn't ever be able to be used as F1 or IRL cars, as they're not even close to the same thing... they're basically replicars.
It's like building a tube chassis for a car that you would find on the road normally, using the body work from it, but making a shell race car out of it.
late model and 358 racers use modified tube chassis, and call them "frames" which is why I said "frame" instead of tube chassis or structure. The main point of the kit is to be able to make a car that "looks" like the real thing, although obviously not handling or working to a full extent like it.
The drivetrain components were not included in the kit, just like older Noble model vehicles... the owner's responsibility was to install those bits and adapt the chassis to them.
Like I said, the plans were to build a replica F1/IRL car, not the actual thing.
