I wasn't advocating removal of the cat, without proper tuning methods to negate the extra pollution that might be created. To clarify.

I removed mine because it was likely causing more emissions than it was saving, because it was mostly plugged, and wasn't working very efficiently. This caused excess restriction in the exhaust, making the engine work harder, costing me fuel economy. If I had the money, I would replace what's there now with a hi-flow. I don't have it though, right now, hence the reason I'm only doing free stuff to either of my cars.
