I first picked up my beater diesel when unleaded was ~$1.50 in CA and I was floored by the city mileage (~45mpg w/ cheaper fuel compared to ~15-20mpg w/ more expensive fuel), so until gas hits $1/gallon it'll be about cash cash money money to some extent.
