Mine'll stick to 3rd gear up to ~42 MPH and 2k RPM. Once I push it over into 4th I can keep it there down to ~40 before it shifts down again.
Being able to manually control the shifting would be great, but more for traffic where I'm doing 10 MPH in 1st @ 2,300 RPM and it just isn't enough to get it to 2nd.
