Mine'll stick to 3rd gear up to ~42 MPH and 2k RPM. Once I push it over into 4th I can keep it there down to ~40 before it shifts down again.

Being able to manually control the shifting would be great, but more for traffic where I'm doing 10 MPH in 1st @ 2,300 RPM and it just isn't enough to get it to 2nd.

How good is your understanding of electronics? Do you understand pulse width modulation? The TCC solenoid requires a PWM signal, I'm still trying to nail down the duty cycle and frequency. I'm not sure how the 1,2,3 shift solenoids are activated yet, strait 12V or PWM. I should know in a few days. Then I can give you some plans if you feel confident enough to undertake it.

Don't sweat it, I only understand enough to get myself in trouble. I got the shifting part figured out, the only thing I'm stuck on is the PWM. The one I am looking at is only rated up to 95 degrees F. I'm not sure it will last in this application. I think I'll start a thread and see if an electronic genuises around here can help out...

Got the HD Lip on tonight, nice a warm out. Much easier to do when above freezing Still it kniked quite a bit and I didn't trim it up real neat. If it works, I'll make a nice one in the spring with some good quality material.

What do you think?

Looks good, might want to attach some "L" braces to a few places though, so it's flatter, and not turned out on the sides.

If you're having problems with it being/getting kinked, you can always put a few thin wires long-ways across it, with tape, and heat-form it, when you go to make the permanent one.

You make wires that are formed to your bumper, then slowly work the plastic onto them with adhesive, while heating it up so that it's uber-flexible (think: close to melting), then tape it as it cools, then work another 3-4inches down. It will form to those wires, which are already close to the shape of your bumper, which makes it so it won't kink with a little extra bending.

I tell people to pre-form it a bit when using it in their gardens as well, so it won't leave gaps between stones and itself when it tries to straighten out. (it's lawn edging.)

Hm. I might just have to try that.

I want to see some numbers first. haha.

Well....the commute in to work today left me scratching my head. After putting in the grill block the car seemed to take a noticably less amount of effort to go down the road, butt dyno effort is measured by the sensation of acceleration. This morning it just seemed to take a bit more "pedal" to maintain speed. I really wish I had a scangauge now....
Now let me qualify what I've done. Over the weekend I changed the oil, replaced the 180 degree thermostat with a 195, put on a lighter rear sway bar and put the drivers side front spash gaurds back on for winter, I also found my tires psi had fallen from it's summer, 45psi to 32 psi, so I bumped them up to 45psi again. Mondays commute felt great and it felt very easy to maintain speed. The only change I made last night was the HD lip. I know with all of the changes, I won't be able to get an answer and the volitile temps here will cause fluctuations as well. So I might not have a real answer until spring time or if a scangauge becomes available sooner...We'll see how the next few tanks average out.

I attached the lip exactly as "christ" said above, round part up, fastened thru into the bottom of the bumper.
I was thinking the flare out at the end might force air out past the wheel, vs. slaming into it...???

As a side note... I filled up the tank last Thursday, did my normal commute Friday, but Friday evening I found my self at a stop light and needing to win I did win, but that one full throttle accel to over 100mph droped me to 30mpg when I topped off the tank Saturday night after all those changes. I'm kinda amazed I still got 30mpg after that sillyness. I by no means condone street racing and this was no where near that.

The flare *might* do that, but it also might create a spoiler effect, inducing drag by trying to produce down-force. Although it might not be that bad, so you can probably just leave it there.
