I'm actually sitting in the Halifax airport at the moment; going to visit family for the holidays. I'm watching a wicked blizzard - the plate glass is flexing from the pressure changes. Gusts to 100 km/h, and drifts forming as I watch.

I'm here 7 hours ahead of my flight - on purpose - to beat the storm and avoid its effects on the roads early this morning. Also, the power is more likely to go out back in Lunenburg than here at the airport!

It was about a 140 km drive, took 3 hours, and I saw one car spin out into the median directly in front of me (not long after passing me), and the aftermath of a transport truck pushed off the road by a gust (probably an unloaded trailer).

Only managed 61 mpg (US).
