Basjoos - how about a partial EV hybrid? You could use a low-powered EV motor to accelerate from stops, and use the gas motor to cruise only, which would net you MUCH better fuel mileage than you're currently seeing. You could almost maximize the fuel mileage potential of your gas engine that way.

I could honestly see 90MPG logs coming from you after doing something like that... even more interesting is that you could wire up the controller for the EV motor to supplement power for any time you're needing more than just cruising power from the gas motor.

This would benefit even more if you had a D15Z1 installed, b/c you could essentially be running in lean-burn 90% of the time, and still be able to coast/accelerate engine off-style.

I'm pretty sure the added weight wouldn't even begin to offset the benefits.
