I have a similar stock setup, with the airbox intake at the bottom. I blocked that off, cut a hole in the side, and inserted a flex-tube routed to the exhaust manifold. This results in ~100F in the Winter.

My non-lean-burn engine likes 100-110F for optimal FE. Have you tested the range of limits vs. FE and lean burn?
