I have discovered that the other advantage of an older subjectively ugly looking car makes it easier to drive slow in the slow lane. Others will just assume you really can't go any faster (which isn't far from the truth).
I'd like to find a bumper sticker that really conveys why I'm going slow. I'd really like a sticker that just says "Drive slow. Save gas." on it.

I'm wary of putting stickers on cars though; I doubt it'd help the resale value. (though if you have a $450 Metro, who cares)
