All true enough, but if they/we were serious about law, there is a lot that could be done.
For one thing, they could catch some, and make examples of them.
The RIAA hasn't stopped file sharing, but they have made it very clear that it is actually illegal, and a lot of people are discouraged from file sharing as a result.
The cops could be expected to follow the law - unless they are code 2 (lights on) or 3 (sirens), they are breaking the law by speeding.
Car manufacturers could easily govern all cars to 80mph (the highest US speed limit, in Texas), and legislation could require them to do so.
Encouraging people to break some laws undermines law as a whole - not to mention all the wasted fuel and lives lost.
