Bought sc1 for $600, had front end damage, so I relocated the head lights foreword, since the plastic brackets were cracked. 127,351 miles.
My human powered vehicle saves the most gas, since I ride it to work and only rarely drive. |

Body:
Head lights moved forward
Body cracks sealed in front of hood and around head lights
Rear spoiler removed.
Tow hitch (negative aero improvement)
Coroplast belly pan front and back.
Rear fender skirts.
The right side mirror somehow broke off yesterday.
40 psi 165/80R15 tires, 10% larger diameter than stock.
Closed mouth, removed air dam.

2011/02/12: Put a engine temp sensor in parallel with existing to make car idle slower during warm up. Added MAP sensor with diodes to advance timing and lean mixture during open loop, wide open throttle.
Rotateable direction finding antenna port (no net aero gain)
2011/02/20 removed extra temp sensor.
2011/04/21 changed out 165/80R15 to 205/70R15 tires. 62 mph = 70 mph @ 2200 rpm. need to reattach skirts and add tire fairings.
Moving the trailer hitch up higher into the bumper and fairing the belly pan up into the rear bumper.
11/17/12 Added Boat tail
Engine:
Warm air intake with vacuum actuated door from 85 dodge,
0w30 oil, slightly negative crankcase pressure. 0-20 mobil 1 oil
Added diode to map sensor reference.
Transmission:
5th gear-.605:1, synthetic ATF.
Suspension: Increased castor angle, toe set for minimum drag.
Added large front and rear anti-roll bars, front 1.5X stiffer, rear 2.5X stiffer. 205 F Thermostat and pure antifreeze

Planned Mods: |
hotter thermostat. Take a 195F thermostat and grind off 1 mm or so from the stem, test in hot water (when the wife is away) with thermometer to see when it opens.
