No need to downsize that one any more, just run the transonic injectors with compression ignition and 80-1 AF mixtures, for cruising.

This engine is perfect for a CRX, Geo Metro, Triumph Spitfire, Fiat 850 Spyder, ect.

It would also go nice on a crotch rocket...

I actually seriously believe that 100 HP and 103 ft.lbs. is too much for a street motorcycle. You'll never actually need that power.

That would be the equivalent of daily driving a tow truck, for those of us who would normally drive an Isuzu P'up.

one thing I find exciting is seeing direct injection moving down from the high end applications. Once it is put into more mainstream cars, I can guarantee average fuel economy figures will go up very much.

I was thinking... (danger, Will Robinson... Danger!) 100HP and 103TQ... that's like DOUBLE the power of the diesel in my Golf. Hell, that's pretty much the same power as most four cylinder cars on the market currently, close to it anyway. More than the older ones, comparable to the newer ones...

Seems like it'd be GREAT swap material, eh?
