'91 with 285K miles. I think the side skirts helped, though I put them on at the same time as the dam. There all just cut-up strips of industrial conveyor belting; durable as hell.

When I put the belly pan on the truck I waited,without reward, all winter.It wasn't until spring that the benefit from the mod finally emerged on the radar screen.

Update: I'm still here and measuring 35 mpg with current mods. I made a cloroplast forward underpanel, but have not attached it yet 'cause its been so dang cold! I think I'll try it mounted to the bottom of the air dam first, then try it without the air dam. The only problem with the latter is that it would seem to encourage air to go under the car.
In the meantime, I have been idly wondering about airflow. After the air squeezes through my grill block and hits the radiator, where does it go?
(Eventually I will replace my inset cardboard block with a flush mounted black cloroplast one, but for now I revel in the pure efficient ugliness!)

In the Insight, air is encouraged to exit through the front wheel wells. Not sure with the Accord.

It will find the path of least resistance on it's own.
In the 1990s,Ford Motor Company paid around $68,000 for a scale model of a Taurus,with complete engine bay and Plexiglass hood.
They towed the model underwater in the Texas Tech tow tank, injecting dye at certain locations,videographing where the flow was under the hood.
Today,they're trying to do all this with CFD.Since the carmaker already has the point cloud for the entire car in CAD,they can export it into virtual-model software,which afterwards is sent to something like Exa's powerFlow for analysis.
Extremely complicated flow!

Once the engine compartment is a closed plenum, you can power up the fan and discard the radiator.

My poor air dam was coming off, so i took it off and put in my forward undertray. (6'x6' with tire cut outs). I'll see how it goes.
We had some rain and all areas of turbulent airflow are dirty, whereas the clean aero areas are well, clean! It is like poor man's computer drag simulations. I'm particularly interested in how the whole side of the car up to the wheel well top is dirty and turbulent. I'm considering doing some work in that area.
I just saw some pizza pans for 88 cents.... tempted by wheel covers.

Hmmm, in my G2 Insight, I taped lower air entrance shut, the upper driver side also has tape.
Air does come in thru left side top radiator grill n also thru from engine bottom area where the lower panel should be but it was lost by the PO.
So far..., all is great !
The ECU thinks temperatures are higher thus leaning out fuel mixtures, I drive quite unemotional n easy so demand for lots of gas is actually little.
After new updated ECU codes installed n temperatures cheating, MPG's have gone from mid 40's to 50+/_ MPG' ��...
