good to know tygen, i get worried when i hit 200,, i've not seen mine higher than 203 (ever) ,i think im going to take the plunge and build the front chin spoiler peice instead of just a lower grill block. im going to need every advantage to hit my 60 mpg goal. (Mr. monkey,,,, now thats funny!)

One possible problem with your air dam is that there is not enough pressure differential between the front of the radiator and engine side of the radiator. If you have an undertray as well, there might not be enough room for the air in the engine bay to escape. Here's an article to explain it a bit better. They ran into similar problems with an intercooler.

Tried to post a link but I don't have enough posts. Go to autospeed.com and in the search bar enter "undertrays, spoilers, and bonnet vents" There are two parts, read 'em both. Good stuff to know when modding anything that effects cooling.

Well if Moon is your first name, then Monkey must be your last
Anyway, if 60mpg is your goal then you ought to focus on the mods that allow you to EOC more. COZX2 from Gassavers serves as inspiration to me Old Reliable He achieved a lot without major body altering modifications to his car by mastering EOC and making his mods allow for longer EOC. Read up on what COZX2 did, he is basically a genuis and achieved quite a lot very quickly. Note his extensive use of the Magnahelic gauges.

Is an upper grill block better for aero than a lower? Thoughts.

yes always block the upper, take air in from the lower grill , in almost every case,, the aero guys generally agree on that one.
