I agree. This would explain why it is tough to gain much with this car at the nose. I am seeing a definate gain. But, I have done much to the car (not all of it at the nose).

I really need to set myself to the task of the air dam and kammback.

Since I don't own a hybrid I'm going to mention something out of ignorance.
The modern battery packs are susceptible to overheating.You'll want to give the battery area a hard look and incorporate its needs into any mods.
Bye the way,the Prius V which the C-Max is compared to,is longer,narrower,and shorter and gets about 2-mpg better.
You can't really do anything about your width and height,but any length you could add would really help.
Your Length/Height ratio is 2.716 and your Cd should be around 0.29
The Ford Probe V is L/H= 3.907 and has Cd 0.137.'Length matters.'

The hybrid battery is fan cooled through the luggage compartment inside the car. Late model lithium batteries have low internal resistance. This makes them run much cooler than previous batteries. I am not very knowledgeable in aerodynamics, but I understand batteries relatively well.

Oh, speaking of hybrids, the electric system has far less power available than the engine. So, any drag reduction should be more noticeable in a hybrid than a standard gas only vehicle (unless my logic is somehow flawed).

Yes, I have a diffuser made. I have no idea if there are decent gains as yet due to the extreme cold and blowing snow. The car has a number of underbody treatments that smooth the airflow, but not smooth enough to introduce a good smooth stream of air to the diffuser. So the gains from the diffuser are not fully realized until I get a full smooth pan made. That will be in spring sometime. Also, my diffuser is at a 12 degree angle. That is too steep. So, I need to make some minor alterations once the weather permits. I can tell you that the waterlines left on the diffuser tell me the airflow is staying attached and relatively smooth. So, that is good.

The car has over 47,000 miles on it so far and I still love it. Oh, of that 47,000 miles, 27,000 have been EV and this car is not a plug in.

Gotta love it.

Oh, it was 2 degrees today and I still averaged 43mpg........
