Dual Vtec CRV

So right now I'm fighting to get my dual vtec in my civic working right but I already cant help but to think. What if I put a dual Vtec into my AWD 2000 CRV. The numbers are ok B20=160 dual vtec=130. What does anyone els think?

Since it's a B-block, it'll take a B-head. It won't take the cylinder head from the D-series... from your post, sounds like you're referring to the D17.

Since B-heads will fit, that means the 160 hp B16A head or the 185 hp B18 head can go on the block.

Which means around two hundred horses (maybe about 180 to the wheels), give or take, depending on whether your bottom end will hold together and how good your tuning is.

oh man......interesting but crazy. You will also need to find an awd d-series tranny as well but how are you going to operate the rear end is up to you. I heard there were pumps in the back for the rear dif or something along those lines.

No see a while back a guy had me mate hit GSR to his stock CRX SI Transmission I made a plate to hang the two together and had the GRS clutch disc machined to match the SI Transmission. So I was thinking of using the CRV Transmission and the d15b Dual Vtec as a whole engine. I would probably need to make a custom engine mount but that's quit elementary. Ecomodder not HP

I think it'd make more sense to drop the rear diff and driveshafts if you want to ecomod. That, and/or swap in the whole D15 drivetrain, transmission and all.

I like your thoughts but I live where it snows bad and When me/wife cant drive the civic it would be nice to get good MPG's and the wife could safely get to work. A AWD SUV getting like 40 MPG's would be sweet!! But with what you said I would still have the ground clearance and better ECO transmissions to use???Hmmm

Actually you shouldn't need to create any mounts. rd1 engine bay design is similar to the ej6/ek. Maybe everything will bolt up even the a/c compressor.

Snow tires and FWD is unstoppable. I live in Syracuse NY and have no problems getting around in my Focus in the snow.
