I would be right around 100% skeptical of somebody jumping on here and selling a rebuilt engine in their first post, especially if it hasn't even been fired up.

I'm pretty surprised somebody bought it, but I am not really surprised by the outcome.

yea. i know it, damn shame though. World would be a whole lot better if people actually wanted to help each other out.

I have a pretty decent wagon that i was really looking forward to making more frugal.

Not sure what i can do with my current d15b2 and 4 speed manual... i have access to a good d15b7, which i know is vtec, right?

"rod knock" what's something like that cost to rebuild?

grrrr, i just want it frugal and fixed

Rod knock? Could be a lot of things. Complete engine rebuild required. And by complete i mean everything the oil touches needs to be replaced. Basically throw out everything except pistons and bottom end. Even those might have scarring.

I mean, its the bottom end that's too loose....and all that's not what makes it HF, its the head, mpfi intake and valves up top and stuff, right?

oh, right and the different camshaft... dambit.
