Hydrogen generators

With the ever increasing fuel costs projected to be in the $5 range this summer has anyone here had any luck with hydrogen boosters assisting a gas powered passenger car engine ?

Oh, that's me! I got a "hydrogen-booster" in 2007, but it didn't work for me, so now it's uninstalled and rusting away. Even the creator admits that hypermiling isn't ideal for his gizmo without lots of extra control gizmos :

Diesel Dynamometer Testing Analysis - May 2007
Quote:
The conditions where Hydrogen Boost may improve mileage the least is when the driver is already implementing driving tips like slow acceleration and cruising at low speeds and throttle settings. It may be possible that the cost of the hydrogen production could be higher than the benefits of that hydrogen to the miniscule amounts of fuel that are being combusted while using these efficient driving techniques. This is exaggerated when the operator sets his hydrogen production too high for the engine he is operating.

Our Model 20 is designed to produce enough hydrogen for even the largest gasoline engines including those of 8 liters displacement. So those who are installing and operating on a one liter Geo Metro engine may be only preventing improved mileage when producing hydrogen at 20 amps.

Recent changes in installation instructions provide for installation of a throttle position switch or intake manifold vacuum switch that would only turn the hydrogen generator on during acceleration and high cruise throttle settings. This will avoid most of the negative savings operations. Adjusting the vacuum switch to optimum setting should practically eliminate the negative savings zones.

Hydrogen

I am also very interested in this subject and have been for some time now.
Have you ever heard of Stanly Meyer? Apparently he came up with a on board hydrogen generator that he installed on a dune buggy that run only on hydrogen!
The buggy didn't have a fuel tank but it had a water tank, plus according to him you can use water from a garden hose or salt water or ice in fact while I am typing this I will see if I can find the video's that I've seen to show you.

Ok it wont allow me to right now since I don't have many posts on here but just Youtube Stanly Meyer.

And after he told the world about it saying "he wanted to stop the oil embargo" he was dead soon after.

I feel he was definitely onto something.

It's such a shame that this breakthrough of physics was taken from mankind with Stanly's early demise.

Sorry guys,

I hate to spoil your fun, but I have researched this subject for a long time now. Any on board hydrogen (machines) are purely fantasy. Electrolysis of water done by expensive industrial electrolysis is at most 15 to 20% efficient.

People like Stan Meyer would be violating some of the basic laws of physics in order for their claim to be valid. Simply put, it is not possible to generate any useful amount of H2 on board as you go.

Try a simple test, try making your HHO machine maintain a simple idling speed.
