So I am curious about the 2500 RPM. Is that the target for the highway and while in the city to get the most MPG?
The 2500 rpm number is just what seems to work best for me on the highway. Around town I drive very conservatively.... very light on the gas, short shifting, etc. I have found this car to be VERY sensitive to even the slightest changes in driving style. The good mpg numbers are there to be had; you just have to work for them.

Thanks Night9. I am keeping under 65 most of the time, unless I am just not paying attention. I have been hypermiling for about a week now and on this current tank I am at 37.8 mpg. Up almost 5 mpg since I found ecomodder.com!

42.064 @ 65 mph over 470.1 miles with three people in the car on a road trip down to Cincinnati Ohio and back to Toledo the next day. That included the weight of four people plus overnight bags as one of the passengers weighed nearly as much as two people , as well as the driving in town.

Car isn't the prizm in my fuel log here, but my 2012 Ford Focus 5-door hatch that replaced it. Averaging 34.875 mpg so far but to be fair most of the driving is less than 10 miles per direction twice a day to and from work.

Car is telling me that its averaging closer to 35.1 on trip two (which has never been reset but the odometer resets every 2000 miles (well 1999.9 miles), and 99:99:59 hrs).
