Long time Lurker to now active member LOL

Hey guys! Finally making my introduction after being a member for 9 years now.

I have long been facinated by your guy's quest for mpg and been intrigued about Honda's lean burn technology. I used to own a EK sedan that was d15b swapped (3-stage vtec motor) and was getting 40 mpg before i crashed it a few years back.

Now I own multiple cars and one of them is a EG civic vx but that has been swapped into b series and I have decided to retire it from being a racer boy to good looking fuel sipper boy HAHAHA

I recently acquired a d16y5 and plan to obd1 swap it and run the federal vx ecu if i get my hands on one. I do plan on building a build thread on it and I think this project would be similar to Import Tuner's project sipper build. Saving gas and looking good at the same time hehe.

More power to you guys and hope that peeps here could answer my noobie fuel sipping questions LOL

Welcome to Ecomodder.

I don't have anything to offer in the lean-burn Honda realm, but it make me sad that Recent Posts says you have three post and zero replys.

Have a Thanks for trying.

Hey! It's all good! I'm just honestly happy to see that there's a community thats committed to fuel efficiency because it does get boring just being "fast" or building cars just to go "fast" you know HAHAHAHAHA

Why not both?

I stuck with the 36HP flat four for decades. Eventually, when I stopped being poor, it was 1600cc, five speed, dual 40mm Weber carbs.

Those Webers, on back-throttle, sounded an alert (like a Jake brake) to pedestrians and traffic cops.

Now it's a three-cylinder Chevy.

Thanks, I drove the oval-window sunroof for IIRC 6 years. The wheels (Sears Raders) were on at least a half dozen cars over the years, and I eventually traded them for a whole car, a 1979 dasher Diesel.

Five-speed swap, Quantum wagon suspension and Ronel alloys. 45MPG, or cruise at 85MPH. It had green tinted glass all around, but when I sold it the new owner had it vandalized and they broke out the passenger wind wing. I shouldn't have let it go but I didn't have the parking space.

Dang! So those wheels were expensive enough to do a car trade huh!?!

Oh what the hell never new a vw Dasher existed. I thought the car on the picture was an old vw scirocco lol. 45 mpg is a breeze for diesel engines. I was considering on buying a vw tdi myself haha

Actually, I was advertising the (original Sears, not repro) wheels at $2000, and he was asking $1500 for the car. So we met in the middle.

The Dasher was from the merger with Audi, IIRC it went Audi 80 --> Dasher --> Passat. It differs to the Sirocco with a longitudinal engine layout.

Once in a while I still see a sedan of that generation, yet much less often than a few years ago, but a coupé or a hatchback unriced like yours is nearly impossible to see where I live...
