I got another notice from the town I live in, expressing their disapproval of my open-air economy car museum. Both New York State and my local zoning laws allow only one unregistered/non-op vehicle on a piece of property. I had ten until recently! Some are hidden. The violation only says "many vehicles," so I don't know how many they know about. I'm keeping one Metro, two Insights, and the CRXFi. The Metro is kind of hidden and I can keep the unregistered Insight in my driveway. I just need to figure out where to stick the CRXFi.

They're threatening me with a maximum of a year in prison and $1000 a day in fines. It's a new zoning enforcement officer, I don't know how serious this one is. This is a rural area surrounded by large manure farms.

I got rid of one Metro without really getting rid of anything.

Tell them "send bachelors and come heavily armed".

I don't know how people can stand to live in these hyper controlling areas. What about the law that says you can't own more than 2 pets per person? How about 1 vulgar utterance per minute? How about no offensive odors?

The law about owning private property on your private property is arbitrary and defeats the purpose of private ownership.

Wasn't it NY that also passed a law saying you couldn't work on your own car in your own garage? I'd promptly drive it to the steps of the Capitol and work on it there, being public land and all.

I thought it was the wife's job to inform if there is too many "treasures" in the backyard.

I would understand this if your cars would be somewhere on a street or parking lot, hogging parking spots. But that is your own yard.

Tell them your property is a auto sanctuary.

Where unregistered, undocumented vehicles are protected from deportation or prosecution, despite ordinances and laws.

They’re just awaiting a chance at a new life. Some way of being integrated back into the fabric of society where they can be productive once more.

Ask them why they’re so cold hearted...
