Modified 2007 Tomos Streetmate 50cc - Northern VA

I'm the second owner of this moped and have ridden it a total of 1,500 miles. The bike has a total of 3,000 miles on it altogether.

No license, title, or insurance is required to ride one of these in the state of Virginia.

Average fuel efficiency is between 60 and 80mpg. A full tune-up has just been performed and I will happy to briefly instruct the buyer in regular maintenance and operation.

Basic specs

Tank volume: 0.92 gallons, including 0.13 reserve
Braking system: Front: Disc 230mm, Rear: Drum 105mm
Starting system: Electric start or optional kick-start
Top Speed: 40 MPH
Tire size: Front: 2.50-17, Rear: 3.25-16
Weight: 143 lbs

1,000 miles ago. It may need to be replaced in another 2,000 miles.
The stock speedometer was replaced with a digital bike speedometer for improved accuracy.

BRAND NEW spark plug.

What the sale will include

+ 1.5 gallon gas can

+ Extra Unipod air filter and custom air box for it (didn't use it because of how loud that combination is)
+ Kick-start pedal
+ Extra 10 watt turn signal bulbs

+ 1 square foot of UNI air filter foam

What the sale will not include
---------------

+ Mirrors

Price is $1200 firm

I've owned two Tomos' mopeds, their quality is only out done by Honda, I would remind people that this was NOT made in China and that you can still get alot of parts for their mopeds that were made 30 years ago, unlike every other scooter or moped out there.
I it had the stock exhaust on it it would only go 35mph but would get over 100mpg, at least with me at 250lb that is what I got with my Tomos Arrow, and other friends with Tomos' get the same kind of mileage without any babying.

IIRC, Paul Elkins converted a step-thru Tomos to a feet-forward style. This looks to have the same basic structure under that tank and seat. It just needs padding on the frame and a frame extension for the forward pegs.

Admittedly I haven't tracked my fuel efficiency on this very closely since I did a full carburetor tune-up. I'm also fairly heavy on the throttle.
It's very easy to average 100mpg on one of these with little effort.

Yes, all Tomos mopeds share the same frame with integrated gas tanks. They only vary slightly in what mounting tabs are added for mounting the different fenders, what wheel/rim sizes are used, what engine is attached (A3, A35, or A55), and what electrical system is used.

This one of their few models that includes an electric start, and has the most recent engine, as well as a disc brake on the front wheel. The "tank" that occupies the step-through area is actually a storage compartment and is removable provided you can be bothered to re-route some of the wiring that goes through it.

Replacement parts for Tomos mopeds are very inexpensive and there are 3 or 4 dealers in this area that you can order them from.
Any performance parts you could want are available from http://www.1977mopeds.com

I apologize for not keeping track of this thread. Haven't been active here in a year. This moped was sold in March of 2010.
