I used to have a 71 vw bus that would get 30 mpg at 45mph and 15 mpg at 65 mph. On several occasions it was lifted onto 2 wheels by a strong crosswind. Scary and unreliable, but fun.

That is the most common square left in my locale. The jeep jacked.
Even the v8. But there is a trick learned locally, as no v8 is aloud to be manly oem...the bigger tires and a simple air intake, increases fuel mileage, demands torquing, less throttle and rpms, and 4 lo actually has a purpose. while scaring little people...
been that way for a LONG TIME.

I like that about this place, it is one of the many "backwards" harsh locales that reveal the unlikely truth in a poor environment to boot.

That is the most bizarre traits I have ever heard. (Speaking of backwards...)
this bubbly round bus describing the owner or what...
Aircooled and 30 years old in 71 would have a bit of unreliable to think about. I bet the same engine running today, ya know, at 60 years old gets the same attention.
sOOOOOO unreliable......

RVs aren't designed for aerodynamics. They're designed to be cheap to build and roomy inside. So it's easier to staple aluminum to straight 1X4s and have roomy interiors than it is to taper rooflines and have users complaining about unusable space.

Besides, if you've got $100k - $500k for a big RV, filling the tank for $500 isn't a big deal .

I was just marvelling at the mis-application of the generous radius.

And I disagree, at least some RVers would love an fe increase, the bigger the better!!!

The two daily divers you can find with the worst CdA probably are the International CXT and the F650

Not to mention a reduction in wind noise and engine noise at speed.

I'm not sure why that airplane is shown... it's really streamlined and just because an RV has alot of frontal area doesn't mean it's not aerodynamic, the air flow tends to smooth out over a long straight plane, that is why stubby vehicle like a jeep is on my list and why it can get around the same mileage as a school bus.

Oh, and before you ask this thing can get ,fully laden, 0.3 MPG which is actually quite amazing considering the 623 tons of weight (1,375,000 lbs)

by analogy, this thing gets over 180MPG per each tone it weighs....now that's ecomodding
