Alright,

Im putting together prices for a driver board kit. This is the one in post 28. http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthrea...tml#post294581

These will end up being purple in color with gold plating on all exposed solder pads. The purple is because of the fab house Im using now, and the gold is their standard operation. It is good though because gold does not tarnish.

I will have total price per board kit in the next few hours. Anybody interested should let me know. I need to get to 10 units to be worth it. More the better though.

I have 3 already.

I'm interested in two bare boards or kits without VLA chip (already have 'em)...

Alright,

Full Driver kit is $95.

This includes all parts including carbon composition resistors to populate the resistor arrays with gate resistors, and the VLA500 module.

Shipping inside the US is flat rate $5.35.

Let me know who's interested.

Adam, What thickness copper plate did you use in your design ??
Chris,
In my so far not fully tested design, I looked at the capacitors to determine the thickness. The pad where the copper mounts to has a certain size, for the C4DE it's 10mm (0.394 in) in diameter. And the threaded post is 8mm (0.315 in). The conducting area is 0.0438 in^2 if you subtract out a hole the size of the post. The "bottle neck" is where the copper leaves the pad, so I wanted to make the cross-section there as much as the pad area. Since the diameter is 0.394 inch, the circumference is 1.237 inches, so you need a thickness of 0.035 inches to get the same cross section. I think I found some 0.040 stuff. And for those of you in the Phoenix area, I go to this place called Industrial Metal Supply that sells all their scraps by the lb. I don't think I spent more than $2 on mine.

Alright,

Im still only at 7 driver kits. I need a minimum of 10 to place the order for the boards.

Normally I would just front the money for the extra kits, but hobby money is a little tight with taking so much time off of work.

Thumbs up Count me in for 3.

'kay. I'll get 3, 'cause they're purple...

There's a slight delay for some plastic reasons; should be nbd.

PM me asap.

These boards are serious overkill for what I'm doing, but generally overkill doesn't cause any harm. From many perspectives, this is a bargain; and I am happy to do whatever I can to keep things moving.
