The performance improvement was astounding, and the turbo was free, so it was really an ideal situation.

Did you notice any FE improvement from the twins?

So I am reading it right you went from a single turbo to a twin?
For me going from no turbo to a single turbo put me about +2mpg in almost the same driving conditions as this time last year with out even trying.
I was using the block heater and grill block or grill blanket and still only getting 16mpg, I haven't even tried any of that.

Twins have a lot of advantages for FE. The size of the performance envelope can be greatly widened. And while the cost of properly-sized turbochargers is high enough, the fabrication costs for piping alone is off-putting for most all of us. Then there is re-programming EFI . . . .

very nice build, not sure how I missed this.
I have a 4bd1T to use. how did you get the lower RPM needed for diesel conversion? Just the taller tires?
I don't want to go that route. I wonder if one can find 3.73 aftermarket R & P sets for these diffs?

Perhaps you explained this already, but why don't you keep a fuel log here for this vehicle?

Awesome thread buddy. I'm from the Caribbean with a 91 fj80. As of right now I have to fix a couple of things on my rig to put her back on the road. Will be saving up to do a diesel swap and your thread has been packed with information and knowledge one wishes could be found more often for us down to earth guys w/o the funds to pay for a $10-20k conversion from a shop. I will do mine eventually b/c right now she's running beautifully with only 190k miles so it gives me time to "collect" what's needed. Thanks so much for this awesome thread b/c I was actually getting discouraged. Also, isn't there a full mechanical version of this engine? Not too fond of too many electronics... Once again, thank you and hope to hear some more!!!!!! Drive safe and keep all 4's on the ground!!!!!!!
