Thumbs up Aluminum Moon Wheels ?

As posted elsewhere on this forum I will again pose the question as to why any one of the dozens of aftermarket wheel builders have not gotten the idea of manufacturing a light weight, aerodynamic, aluminum, moon type wheel. Why not. Would there not be a market for same? Maybe the message should be gotten out there. Does any one know any body in the business?
Bill

There used to be wheels like that, but they're out of fashion right now.

Question Fashion or MPG ?

I couldn't agree more. Unfortunately fashion rules the wheel world these days, and not engineering. Except for just a few builders, like HRE, and BBS, who recognize issues of unsprung weight and rotational inertia, the bulk of wheels made today only address issues of color, chrome plating vs polished finishes, and the number and complexity of spoke patterns.
