I really try to use public transit, having paid $150 for a semester pass, but I do not think that I was able to use it at all last week, and this week is not looking good, either. I have been studying for three weeks for my anatomy practical today. Perhaps had I studied for my physics test last week I would have scored higher than a 64%.

I do not have high hopes for the practical, though. Shouldn't three weeks of studying be enough?

Anyway, I fill up every other week for about $50, having driven my Forester about 300 miles. I definitely wish that I had something more economical, but having slept in it last drill, it definitely has some merits.

What about Energy Secretary Steven Chu saying that he wanted the US to have the same gas prices as Europe?

Right around $1000. I am embarrased since I use so much coal for charging other vehicles than my car! (hmm; CA. is hydroelectric and nuclear in my area - so never mind! I am no longer embarassed- as the gloat factor sets in... )

About 430 euro annually for LPG, 50 euro for petrol, 228 euro for road taxes, 200 euro for insurance, 300 euro on maintenance including tyres replacements. About 10-11.000 km per year.

2 years ago between my wife and i, we spent about $5900 (at about $4.80/us gallon)...if we drove the cars we have today, the fuel bill would be half, $2950

Spent almost $400 in 2011. Usually get 30 gallons each month at about $1 a gallon using Giant Eagle discount points and a trunk full of gas cans. Drive 2 v6 cars plus a plug-in electric. Yes, we are retired.

For the past 12 months - estimated right at $5000 for my vehicle and 70,000 miles. Darn malfunctioning EGR probably cost me $300 due to having to run 93 octane for 9 of those months. My Co-workers averaging 35 mpg in their stock 4 cylinder cars would have spent $7200

I'm at $1440 for cars, and ~$400 for motorcycles/scooters.

I move through traffic with a 63cc scooter, which has 90+MPG's.
My other bike has 80+MPG's when driving 40-45MPH. I'm trying to keep that speed.
My car has an average of 34MPG (42MPG on the highway, 70MPG when driving 35-40MPH in the city).
My other car is a V6, and a gasoline hog. Only used to go to the metro rail station 2 miles away (to and back).

From my bank statements:

2005 $1450
06 $1145
07 $1050
08 $970 92 Accord -> 98 Civic
09 $700
10 $590
11 $730 with motorcycle
12 $470 (through August)

I drive 125 mi/wk to work, and mostly just park the car on the weekends. There were a few work related 1k mi trips in 08 and 09. Includes a truck used for renovations mainly in 2007-8. Got the bike in 2011, 83 BMW R80, used as occasional commuter and pleasure rider (2500 mi) though it actually gets worse mileage (33-36) than the car (37-41).

Looks like it's taken me 6 years to spend $4500 on fuel. I can't even imagine $4k/yr. It would be nice to have a garage though, but, no space on these old narrow city lots.
