Volvo 240 early series, headlight covers

The suggestion that someone on Ecomodder made that I should close off the openings around my headlights kept nagging at me, so I finally made headlight covers for better aerodynamics and headlight glass protection. Material: 4 mm Makrolon (polycarbonate), the stuff from which modern headlight glasses are made. Covering the heads on this model closes many gaps through which air can pass and cause drag. It also protects the ever more expensive glass 🙂 Comments and questions welcome...

I can see no harm, I like, and it would be interesting what a before and after tuff test would show on the surrounding surfaces of any calming effects of the headlight cover install..

I was aghast at the gaps around my S10 pickup truck headlights until I realized that is where the engine intake gets it air from.
