Am in the process of pulling the dash. Take that, xfispy.I test fitted the group 27 battery case in the rear and there's no good spot other than the spare tire well. The battery does fit (just) on the tray in the engine compartment but is 20+ pounds heavier than stock... Any thoughts?

Started weighing the jettisoned parts, as follows:
Carpet: 8.7lbs
Door panels/trim/interior quarter panels: 24.1lbs
Rear seat base: 9.3lbs
Rear seat back: 16.4lbs
Total: 58.5 lbs. I still have to weigh the spare tire, dashboard, and all the junk that was in the car.

I checked battery weight. The battery in the car weighs 38.1lbs. The group 27 deep cycle with the case weigh 60.5. Still debating which car it goes in.

you guys are freaking inspiring!! I'm going to have to do my next build with more patience and follow-through... I guess it's the company I keep

OG- here it comes! (this one will cost the same $600, but it is a much better car to start with, clean title, been in the family since new - grandma bought it new, mom got it, son got it. then son got a new one and parked this a few years ago)

Coming soon, a very slow build of a 1989 honda civic wagovan!

thanks to all you guys doing awesome things to old cars and making me want to be cool like that too!

Please keep up the great work! (and put lots of pictures of stuff that I might want to do to mine as well)

thanks,
Victor
